There are quite a few of some of the old gang I've been missing. We used to have quite a bunch of theologians, teachers, pastors, etc who were 40 yrs and above. Wondering where you all are.

Not going to name names cause I cannot remember all and don't want anyone to feel slighted. Just hoping that some of you will show up and we can make this a general chat thread.

Besides the fun of reminiscing, which we all love to do about everything, I thought we could examine the changes we've gone through as church workers. Being older and being church workers we do have our own peculiar set of problems.

I'm keeping it loose so you all can decide on the ebbs and flows of our conversation. But I look forward to conversing with fellow workers who are also in the same age ranges.

grace and peace,

M.

I'm not 40, but I've been told I'm wise for my age.

What shall we philosophize about?

How close are you to 40.

Do you remember Catholic school and the nun's long "habits", and that 3 ft. ruler attached to her belt? Are our schools missing something by not having any real discipline?

I don't remember 54, but that's 'cause I haven't made it that far yet. But so far, so good.

Then again, I remember nothing about 1, 2, and very little of 3.

Well, since I'm not catholic, I certainly don't remember anything about catholic school... As for how close to 40, let's just say I'm 3/4 of the way there.

BTW, I knew a lot more at 21 than I do now. I figure any day now I'll finally have enough sense to be 17 again.

I remember 40, and 45 too.

I remember no color tv.

I remember nuns with eyes in the back of their habits that scared the parents more than the kids.

I teach sunday school to first graders, do I qualify?

I remember a couple of months of 45. I'm currently in the process of making more memories of 45.

I remember 40 and 45. But then I'm only a little less than two months into 46.

I'm too young to be this old.

Umm...way over 40 here, but not yet 50.

I remember going to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Orlando 1967 (I was 10) - Mom figured me and my little brother (who apparantly was "full of the devil") needed to go after we drove her crazy for a few years.

I remember getting an RC Cola (that's R.O.C. cola to ya'll in the deep south ) and a real moonpie, both for 15 cents at my Autn Roney's lil market store.

I remember when capri pants were called peddle pushers and the Fear of God also included your parents.

As for theology - yeah I got some of that, too...I just get lost with alot of the language and unusual questions that are discussed around here. Especially when the OP is fishing with live bait and ready to hook anybody for a short-term fight of sorts.

LOL!! R.C. colas do taste better IMO. They had a diet cola years before TAB and certainly before Coke, and it was pretty good. Haven't seen an R.C. or a diet R.C. in years.

I just told my daughter yesterday that capris used to be called peddle pushers, and they were worn with these little crop tops that were sleeveless. Remember sun suits? I wore a ton of those when I was little. Probably up until I was at least 7 years old.

BTW, I remember very well that the fear of God included my parents. When I got in trouble at school, I was much more concerned about what I was going to get at home.
