Our pastor has been asking for people to leave the back pews & inside aisle pews for visitors. After 3 years people finally moved Sunday. I wonder what would happen in our church if we obeyed in a more timely manner ?

I need to order new books too. We've had spring weather for the past few days. It's been very nice. I took out some of my spring/summer clothes out of storage and put them in my dresser already! We're supposed to have rain on Wednesday & Thursday but after that, nice weather again.

I'm sorry, but March is my least favorite month of the year.

My calendar says spring, and dang it, I want spring! But I live on the shores of Lake Erie, so we never actually GET spring in March!

What we do get is ice . . . it is typically above freezing during the day and below freezing at night, so the top layer of snow melts and then freezes back up again when the sun goes down. That means that people, cars, and horses tend to slide all over the place.

However, it also means that the sap is running and people are making maple syrup, so all is not lost.

I have to get new shoes for my blessing-sandals too. Her feet used to be slow, but in this past year alone they have grown up 3 sizes-so she is now a girls 3. It used to be nice to at least have her feet slow since the rest of her grows fast, but I guess those days are over now.

I could not find her sandals last year for anything. And we both need new bathing suits.

Will be ditching all the curriculum we've been using and going to sonlight, probably and see if that works better.

That sounds like it will work much better for you.

I buy bathing suits at Sears. They have similar styles to Land's End, but they are much less money. I don't know if they have them in yet or not. I always watch for when they go on clearance. That way we can buy another one for cheap.

Sears sells Land's End, but I always buy the bathing suites online because I can often find what I need for really cheap.

I know they sell some stuff, but here the selection is limited and it is also too difficult to get to Sears with all the construction going on.

I'm so looking forward to spring! I can't wait until the dirt dries out and I can start digging in my flower beds and making them all pretty. I'm tired of everything being cold and wet. Either the ground is frozen or it's sloppy and muddy.

We're taking off a day of school today to do some cleaning upstairs. The kids' rooms are really messy. I mentioned it the other day and Rachel said, "We were waiting for you to tell us to clean it." So it's my fault now the kids' rooms are messy, because I hadn't told them to clean them.

I noticed that this morning..We are on the west coast of Lake Huron. But I can dream, right???
I think I lived in MO too long...It went from winter to about 70 in no time at all. In Mi, it keeps trying to be spring for a couple of months, then we get 2 weeks of summer and by that time, it's fall...

We are back in our old town for a day. I came up here to look for another place to rent. Talked to Dh and he wants us to go down there but he is still not telling the truth...Anyhow, now ds wants to go down there, too...
If I absolutely can't find a place here, then maybe I'll go down there. Ds says to go and stash all the money up here so if Dh takes off again, at least we can have something saved up..
I took the truck to get an oil change and told the man that the truck had started shimmying and asked if he saw anything wrong when he greased it. Well, he showed me a big buldge on one of the tires. Now i need to go and get a tire BEFORE I go back to the city.... He said both front ones are messed up so (they don't sell tires, either) using the spare isn't an option...well, gotta go and see how much a couple of 16? inch tires are going to cost....At least it didn't blow out and at 60 mp[h on two lane roads, that has to be a very good blessing, right??

I wouldn't tell the boys to clean their room (or maybe I did and they didn't hear me..) I just used to get out the BIG shopvac- the one that would just about vacuum up lots of small toys with plugging it up. I would park it in front of their room and guess what they would start doing???

I am a volunteer with our state homeschool organization. People call me for information about homeschooling in our region. This morning, I got a frantic call from a mother of two; a 3rd grader and a 6th grader. She was fed up with the public school system and was going to pull them out and homeschool them, but had no idea where to start. She was a little concerned that the police might come after her! I told her that she could take them out and homeschool them and if she had any problem with the school she could call me back and I would get her some help.

I get quite a few homeschoolers asking for my advice on homeschooling now, too. It's kind of funny. We used to be this family that no one wanted their kids to be like. We got married really young, had lots of kids with hardly any money and a terrible trailer to live in, and it was absolutely scandalous. We were the reason our homeschool group changed all the rules of their teen parties, to prevent kids like Erick and me from pairing off and being so irresponsible. Now we're the family that everyone wants to be like. We get so many people saying how wonderful it is that we did things right, and they want their kids to be like us. People ask me for advice all the time now. It's kind of funny what a difference a few years can make.

I like being able to help others. This woman was extremely stressed. She called at three minutes to eight in the morning. Normally I don't take calls in the morning and should have asked my mother to take a message, but I was not thinking and took the call. She wanted to know what kind of program I had. I told her that I have no program. I am a volunteer who takes questions about homeschooling and gives answers as best I can and asked her what she had questions about. She said, "Everything!" lol Poor lady. I got her all calmed down and happy and she should do just fine.

Cynthia, glad you could help her!

We are back up north looking for a place to rent. We talked to one man about a few houses he is selling on land contracts. I would really have to think about buying from him. He has mortgages on everything and said his wife left him 3 weeks ago. I kind of wonder if he isn't trying to sell everything out from under her....
Ds is babysitting for Ds2's dog. ..It's in the truck right now and I hope she doesn't chew anything. I am taking her back home tonight. Ds2 said that he didn't want to leave her home alone because she eats things like the paint off of the walls..It's still too cold to leave her outside....

BTW, I have an unspoken request so if you all could pray, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Judy, If you have a feeling like that, it is good to take that as a red flag.
Also, Please, please find a job before you move. Your first priority should be to have a job, but you have seen the past when you find a place to live first, it extremely limits your ability to work. It is backwards to find a home and then a job.

Our youth pastor's wife is having trouble with her 2 yr old son. He is a kinesthetic learner & he has a tendency to smear poop everywhere. They found him in the kitchen with the heavy butcher block of knives this week. He has an older sister & a younger sister with baby #4 on the way.

I've told her since it is nice let him play outside for a long time. I also suggested his own tool box.

She has ordered Cynthia Tobias' book on The Way THey Learn. Any other ideas I can tell her.

I heard someone bought their son a tool box with real, but small tools. He sawed off the window sill in his bedroom. If he is two years old, he needs constant supervision. I know this is difficult, as my son was extremely difficult to keep track of at that age and he use to do a lot of things like running out the front door or swinging from the chandallier.

I wouldn't recommend a saw.

I did say she may need to put bells on his shoes.

Sounds like my Timothy. We would leave glasses with spoons in them in various places because he couldn't resist clanging them. This was our alarm to let us know that he was up for the day because we could not let him wander around unsupervised. We often would just give him a couple of screw drivers with some old boom box, VCR or whatever to dismantle so I could relax, home school or whatever. He would have to stay where I could see him. I would buckle him in a carseat when I needed to use the bathroom. We built him a climbing wall in the playroom. When we first moved into our present home, we slept right next to the door to his room. Now he shares a room with an older sibling and that helps a bit.
