Why is it that when something bad happens to someone, it always seems like everyone thinks we shouldn't blame or attribute what happened to God? Why is God blameless for anything bad, but gets credit for anything good that happens?

It depends on what you defining as bad.

It is kinda hard to tell what is from God, what is from the devil (God allowing him to act), or what is just natural.

For instance. If you go up in a plane to ski dive. You jump when it is time and you shoot doesn't open. Do you blame God for that, satan, or did it just happen?

The tsunami from a few years ago was certainly a bad thing for those who suffered, died, etc. However can we for sure say it was God? Some will tell you that God was punishing those people with certainty. How do they know this? Did God tell them that? Or is it just something they feel.

Also one can say automatically attributing all good things that happen to God is also a hard thing to place.

For instance. If a gun totting perp has his gun to a little girls head holding her as a hostage and a sniper takes him out I would say that is a good thing. However I wouldn't say God made the sniper shoot the guy.

Listen to the wisdom others have offered here, TorchHeart: there is balm for your hurting heart. God loves you and we do, too.

You don't have to pretend that God is going to make things good for you - He promises He will make things good for you. Look at the promise in Ps. 84:11: "No good thing does God withhold from him who walks uprightly." Who is upright? In our fallen state, not one of us. But being clothed in Christ, every believer is. Every person who sees their selfishness and cries out, "O, God, I'm so selfish. I don't want to be - please forgive me and help me to love others" is walking uprightly.

Look at Romans 8: 28, 29. God says it will work out for good - implying that it's not good now. Paul sang hymns in the Phillipian jail (or where ever that was), not because he was sore from being beaten and now being locked in stocks, but because he knew how it would eventually end up and he trusted God for it (there's a lot more going on in his head here). The result was the salvation of the jailer and all his family. We can sing when everything around us looks like the pits. It's not going to stay that way, God will work things out for us, and we bring glory to God by doing what is right when the chips are down. God is in charge of the chips.

You can laugh. When people hurt you, you can forgive them like Jesus forgave us. When people are brainless and hurtful, you can forgive them and bless them, because you inherited a blessing so you could be a blessing to others. 1 Pet. 1:22 says to fervently love the brethren, which is the hardest thing to do because we are all so unlovely. But Jesus loves us, and can give us the power to love like He does. It's the Holy Spirit's job.

Rom. 8:29 says God wants to shape us to be like Jesus. So when the hammerblows fall, realize there's purpose to it, and trust yourself to a holy God. And be looking for the good that's coming. Encourage your brethren by what you read in the Bible (so start reading every day if you aren't already, and stuff that truth in all your pockets and carry it with you).

Laugh and dance - the wedding supper of the Lamb is coming, and you are part of the Bride of Christ. So shall we be with Him forever, so encourage your heart.

Have people hurt you? Unless you live alone in a cave, I can answer "yes" without even knowing you. They've hurt me, too. Terribly. My parents should have gone to prison. They didn't "get away with it" - the second after they died they faced a holy God. When I find out what happened, I will be satisfied. However God played it.

I am praying today that God will encourage your heart through His Word, the Bible. So open it up and start digging out the promises and the way He does things. It will work out for good.

And the rocks in your shoes, you will find out, were diamonds. You will suffer no loss. God bless you. (((Hugs)))

Posting blind.

The Father only gives good gifts to His children.

He doesn't make or cause bad things to happen. He turns them into good things, for His good pleasure.

Bad things happen to good people. It's just a fact of life. Things just happen. It's how we deal with them, that makes the difference.

How do you seem to stay so happy? I'm not saying that's a bad thing. But when I look at the things you get excited about (Christ coming back, reading the Bible, etc.), they're not exactly the same things that get me riled up in a fervor.

I'm happy because I read the back of the Book and I know how it ends: forever forgiven and at home with the Savior of my soul. Sin will be gone, tears will be over (God says He'll wipe them away Himself), hard times will be ended and the good times will have no end. The God who created Yosemite is going to give us a new heavens and a new earth. We get to be with Him! The God who makes the supernovas explode and the black holes do their thing and keeps the earth in its orbit is going to let you into His world as His honored guest. Forever.

Imagine you're making a movie about you facing people who have declared war on you and are threatening what horrible things they're going to do to you. Now back the camera up and see that you are standing between God's feet, and He's getting ready to cream the bad guys. Are you afraid? Are you worried? No way! They may land a fist on your face, but the second blow isn't going to fall. And maybe the plot is, that when you forgive the first blow, they have a change of heart and join the good side. God's done stranger things than that. And your black eye will be a memorial to His grace and may be the very thing that draws more people to Him. Paul sang in prison because he understood God's sovereignty, and the jailer and his family all got saved. God did it again!

I like the motto of New St. Andrews College: Laughter is Warfare. It really is. God won at the empty tomb 2000 years ago, and the fight is really over. We're just mopping up the ones who refuse to surrender, and it's guaranteed they will be stopped and dealt with justly. All the bad things will be made right - how could it not, when the torture/murder of an innocent Man 2000 years ago resulted in salvation for the world? What will God do with the hard times of your life? He'll turn it around and you'll see good come from it somehow. When you see it from God's point of view, you may slap your forehead and shout, "God, You're a genius! You worked it all out so perfectly! Thank You!"

God won the war: Isaiah 9:7
Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end,

God won, and His Kingdom can't be stopped. It's going to keep getting bigger and bigger.

So rejoice (like it says in James 1:2-4 and 1 Pet. 1:6-9, and understand Rom. 8:28,29 and Ps. 84:11) and dance. You will later, so why not start now? The hard times will shape you to be more like Jesus, and God isn't going to waste your sorrows. Let them drive you into His arms, and bring Him glory. We are His trophies in His trophy case - His grace won our hearts and saved our lives, so let everyone see that He did it and is wonderful. Eph. 2:7

If my gleefulness is too hard to understand, read "Hinds Feet In High Places." She knew it and expresses it better than I do.

God bless you, TorchHeart. Read the verses, take my hand and let's dance!

The rocks in your shoes are diamonds.

Happiness is relative. It is different things to different people.

Whilst walking through the woods one day a young girl of about six picked up some flowers and gave them to her mother. "Mum, I picked these for you" she said. They were a collection of dandelions, buttercups and daisies. Her mother took them with delight and hugged her little daughter.

You see, happiness is making a bouquet of whatever flowers are available to us.

As we grow old, we'll look back at the past. What will we see? Anger and bitterness and time wasted. Or a few bouquets that came our way every now and then.

That's why some people, I included, are happy in our Christian beliefs. We are certain that we are not journeying on our own. He is there beside us every step of the way.

everything good Comes from GOD. to say that something bad came from God would be falling for the trick that satan tried to deceive Job with.
"curse God and die"

Jas 1:16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
Jas 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

woe to the man who does not believe this.

Hello Mr. Heart;

'The doctor is in' fortunately for you. And He is always in, also fortunately for you.

This is Doctor Jesus of whom I speak. There is a way to win in every situation, the bible calls it triumphing, 'God causes me to always triumph in and through Christ Jesus.'

There is more to the bible than what you have been taught or have learned through your own studies, (are you a christian, born again? i am new and dont know yo yet from what you have written)

"My God shall supply all your need according to HIs glorious riches in Christ Jesus"
Here is the answer to every problem, every situation, even the ugliest, with God, using His tools, they can be turned around into good, supernaturally.

Nothing is impossible to him who believes. This is not just trite-iness, it is the Word of God and true. Nothing is impossible to you, Mr. Heart.

Now, to him who believes. There is something to learn and to know in that. About believing, this is referring to another kind of believing, than what you may recognize as 'believing'.

There is another kind of believing, that is 'faith' and it is another meaning of the word than what you may know thus far.

This faith means that kind of faith that God has. THis kind of faith He wants to give to us, and will or has given it to us, but we need to knkow what it is and how to accept it and then to use it.

It produces results that are supernatural, the same kind that Jesus produced.

When God uses it, it produces, ie light from no source, ie in the genesis account. First God said Light be, and there was light, then later he created the sun adn moon etc. the light sources, so in other words God made light to shine from no source whatsoever, just by itself.

THis is a great miracle,

God did it by speaking it out of his mouth and believing what he said would come to pass and it did.

I am descrbiing a diff. kind of faith here. I hjave more information and references to show it as diff. from human faith and diff. from what the average joe christian has been using which hasnt produced results for them.

The faith of God. Paul wrote, that 'he...lived by the faith of christ Jesus" I have to look up quote. but Paul knew it and wrote about it, it was a diff. thing and is a diff. thing than we think. It produces results, whereas human faith will not produce much, and other things that we think is faith will not produce at all, ie. the hope-so, and wishes, etc. these are not faith,

ie what Thomas said to Jesus, he said he would be sure to believe when he saw the scars and put his hadns into the wounds.

Jesus rebuked him for that saying those truly blessed are those who have not seen and have not felt but yet have believed.

This is referring to those who have not personally touched Jesus's physical scars nor seen them, but it is also referring to those who are actually acting or living by real faith, because faith is the substance of things hoped for not there yet, and the evidence of what is not yet seen.

those seeing and feeling are not acting or operating in real faith as yet, as in thomas who doubted, JEsus said to him, 'be not faithless' and how do we know he was? because he wanted to feel and see and touch in order to know. The others went on what the message of God through the angel to them was, in other words they accepted Gods' word to them, Thomas had to see and feel first, in order to believe and he was rebuked for it, and he was called faithless - without faith -

dear Torch Heart;

to continue on how this type of faith can be used by you in your situations to make them better,

I need to describe and differentiate it more,...

Jesus was the master at using it, yes He is God, but he laid that aside and came to us in the same form with the same signifigance as the first adam before he fell. Jesus was in this same state i believe, = to the pre=fall adam number one.

adam two could sin but didn't. adam two laid aside his Godhead and operated as a prophet under the old covenant, even though He was God and much more than a prophet, he used the same tools that are available to us, and accomplished things we are told are for us to do as well, and even more so than him, we are told, it is written.

/so HEart, there are things you could grow in the understanding of and then use as tools against the circumstances in your life you dislike and change them.

ie. Elijah preferred no rain, in order to prepare the people for the message from God that burned in his heart.

Elijah caused it not to rain for a period of time.

When this time was up, he then caused it to rain again. This was Elijah's initiative, his desire and request and done by his actions in connection with prayer and faith.

Paul or Peter did sim, ie. with the death of annaias and saphira, it was the apostle that caused the death of the people by what they said in faith and in power.

they had their almost full authority and were using the keys of the kingdom daily for everything, healing, deliverances, miracles of other sorts, why i say almost full was that paul himself admitted he had not arrived yet, he was not 'there' yet. at full maturity.

These type of things are possiblef or you to do as well, because John the baptist was called the greatest prophet of the old covenant, and the least in teh new covenant, jesus said is greater than him, meaning john was greater than elijah in jesus opinion as well.

Hart:

What i am trying to tell you is that there is a way for you to win in your situations, by learning how to use the tools Jesus used.

These things are called the 'keys of the kingdom' and the Faith of God, or the 'living by the faith of the Lord JEsus Christ' is available for you.

The keys of the kingdom are the power tools if you will, which you need to operate in the supernatural in this life.

Would you like to effec tand change the weather, for example.

you can, because elijah did, and jesus said you are greater than elijah. )you may need to go to school and learn first though)

would you like to have replaced everything that the enemy stole from you?

it is possible and is even a promise of God that you can claim and start speaking over your life situations.

'no weapon formed against you will prosper' etc.

hart; something bad happening can be from God, ie. He can correct us when we sin and discipline and even punish us, but if this is so, that we have been corrected we should know about it, He will tell us if we ask, however, no one needs to be at this place at all, because you just need to repent of any and everything and ask forgiveness and then you are not in a position to be receiving correction and or punishment.

just like you would as a good father, punish and correct a wayward son or daughter of your own, so would God do the same otherwise He wouldnt be good, so the moral and answer to this is dont be wayward, get in to his safe and secret place through obedience, and enjloy The Blessing instead!

Most things that are neg. are not God punishing or correcting us if we are not walking in deliberate disobedience, they are the enemy of our soul taking shots at us and trying to discourage and win.

you can win in all situations agaisnt darkness through the power tools .

I admit that my post was over-the-top, and I have apologized for it. However, please understand that I do have an opinion of who God really is, and it might differ from your's.

And now comes the great question of ages:

When confronted with the knowledge that you just said something that made somebody spray a carbonated beverage all over themselves and/or their possessions, do you take that as a complement of your sense of humor and say thank you, or apologize profusely as you hand them a Kleenex?

I personally do not see why disrespect should be respected.

You and I talked about this in private and I was shocked to the core to see you'd put it out here.

But hey, you've apologised here and presumably to God too, so let's move on.
